DIRECTIONS TO FORT MONMOUTH SOFTBALL FIELDS

 (From Monmouth Mall)

 

 

 

Field 1 (Charles Wood Area):  Rte 36 west towards GSP.  At the traffic light just before the GSP, turn right onto Hope Rd.  Go approx. half mile to 2nd traffic light and turn left (you’ll see the guards).  Field 1 is just down the road across from the fire station.  You can park in the Child Care Center lot on the right. 

 

Field 2 (Dean):  Rte 35 north approx 2 miles.  Turn right into Fort Monmouth main gate (across from the Mobil & Exxon stations).  After passing thru the guards, continue straight until first traffic light.  Turn left at light, then another quick left past the bowling center.  Dean Field will be on your left (adjacent to the larger baseball field).

 

Field 3 (Lane Hall):  Rte 35 north approx 2 miles.  Turn right into Fort Monmouth (across from the Mobil & Exxon stations).  After passing thru the guards, continue straight until first traffic light.  Turn right at light, go past the first set of buildings, then turn left onto Alexander Ave.  The field will be straight ahead on your right.

 

Field 4 (Greely Field):  Rte 35 north approx 2 miles.  Turn right into Fort Monmouth main gate (across from the Mobil & Exxon stations).  After passing thru the guards, follow the main road (Ave of Memories).  Go approx 1/8 mile past the traffic light and make a left turn at the Post Chapel.  At end of road turn right.  The large grass area is Greely.  MAKE SURE YOU SET UP AT THE NORTH-WEST CORNER OF GREELY.  That’s the area closest to the chapel and near the bleachers.  

 

Fields 5 (Oceanport Ave) & 6 (DPW):  Take Rte 35 north.  Turn right at the light just before Burger King (Wyckoff Rd).  At the end of Wyckoff, turn right.  Then make a quick left at the traffic light onto Main St.  Go to next light and turn left onto Oceanport Ave.  The entrance to Fort Monmouth will be on your right just past the First Atlantic Federal Credit Union.  Once you get past the guards, go straight ahead to the Oceanport Ave field.  To get to the DPW field, turn right onto Leonard Ave, go as far as you can and turn right onto Riverside Ave.  The DPW field will be on your left, just before the one-story white building (#167).
